Established in 2006 in Nairobi, the African Youth Initiative on Climate Change (AYICC) is a pan-African network uniting over 500,000 youth across 51 countries. AYICC empowers young climate leaders through capacity development, grassroots projects, entrepreneurship support, and advocacy at national, regional, and global levels. With both individual and organizational members, AYICC fosters collaboration and coordination through national networks and dedicated country coordinators. Guided by the values of unity, empowerment, ambition, partnerships, and integrity, AYICC leads major initiatives such as the African Youth Negotiators Program, the Green Book Africa, and the Children and Youth Pavilion at COP. AYICC’s mission is to unite and enable African youth to lead impactful climate action, shaping a more sustainable and inclusive future for the continent.
